The nearest vet is closed, is there anything I can do to help Sugar? Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Male | 6 months and 9 days old | 0.6 lbs

Thanks for reaching out about Sugar and including photos. It is difficult to determine by the pictures what is actually happening. This could be a bite wounds, puncture, broken leg. The leg appears swollen and a wound. Try gently cleaning the wound with a warm, wet, clean towel. Do not place any topical medications on the wounds as hamsters gastrointestinal tracts are very sensitive, and if ingested could cause diarrhea. Keep Sugar calm and quiet until a veterinary visit can be arranged. Good luck.
