My dog is limping, no visible injury, but acting normal. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed | 7 years and 5 months old

My dog has started limping but no injury visible and being her normal self and eating as usual.

Any limping should be examined by your veterinarian, however, if she is otherwise acting normally you can give it a week or so to see if it gets better. If not, she needs to see a veterinarian. If you chose to wait, I suggest you rest her - not running, jumping, playing, etc. Do not give any over the counter medications without speaking to your vet first.

    If Lucy is eating, drinking, and otherwise well in herself, then you can try resting her (no walks, keep confined) for a day to see if that improves the limp and then take her in. However if she's not eating or drinking, is lethargic or not using her leg at all then she needs to be seen as soon as possible.
