Puppy vomiting and diarrhea: Is it from new food or pig ears?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 0 lbs

I have a 8 month old puppy from Romania I have had her for 3 weeks now and for the past week she has been being sick and have diarrhea. She was on dry food before we got her and we are feeding her wet and dry food. Could it be we are feeding her wet food. She also stole her treats and eat 6 pig ears a week ago. She is eating and drinking normally

Hello. As long as she is eating & drinking normally, then it sounds like there is not too much to be concerned about. I would guess the treats & pigs ears may have something to do with this. The pigs ears may just be taking their time to digest & dissolve totally. You might want to recheck Luna's stools to make sure there are no parasite problems, but she may need more time to get over her indigestion. If it continues much longer, or she worsens, you will really need to see your veterinarian. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
