Why is my 10-year-old cat having watery diarrhea and accidents?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 years and 11 months old | 15 lbs

I have got a male cat who is 10 years old nearly. He's a indoor and always has been. Miles has always had loose stools and has many accidents. Of late he seems to not be able to make the cat litter and it's more watery.

Hi, and thanks for your question. These signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
