Why is my male dog still acting like my spayed female is in heat?

Pet's info: Dog | Jack-A-Poo | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 6 months old | 5 lbs

I spayed my female dog but why does my male dog think she is going on heat because he is behaviour is as if she is.

This could be a completely normal situation, as it can take up to a couple of months for females and males to ''get rid'' of the sexual hormones so sexually related behaviors can persist during that time.
