My dog has back leg pain. Could it be a dislocation or injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 12 lbs

My pomeranian has not been his usual self for about 2 days. He doesn't jump like usual and if he puts weight on his back left leg he falls down. He is very slow when walking. He has not been yelping but I'm sue he is in pain. Could this be a sign of a dislocation?

Poor Boo! It could be a dislocation, but it could also be that he has torn a ligament or has a luxating patella. I agree it sounds like he is in pain, and unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I would take him into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.
