We have a 3 month old chocolate lab. He's had diarrhea since we got him a week and a half ago with blood in it. Our vet sent him home with Metronidazole 2ml time a day and didn't help. He also got his full puppy dewormer and first round of shots then. After 4 days the vet added Diphenoxylate 1.25 mg and Hills Prescription Diet, Multi-benefit W/D with fiber in it, and it helped for a day and now he is back to diarrhea with blood. Maverick's energy is happy, playful and eats well. How to help him

Hello, did your vet do a fecal test? If not, that is what I would have done next. Just dispensing medications and dewormers without knowing what you are trying to treat is useless. The most common parasite to cause diarrhea in a puppy is coccidia and nothing Maverick is taking is going to treat that. I suggest you take a stool sample to your vet's office so they can test it and find out what he actually has so he can be treated appropriately.
