My dog has some diarrhea with. Lood acting fine. He has been under weight and we are trying to get is weight up. He is a new dog for us and has been to vet. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | 19 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Winston! Causes of diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, food allergy or intolerance, pancreatitis, reaction to new food/treat/table food, medications or vaccinations. The blood indicates inflammation. Ideally he should see your Vet for medications. You can start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day until 1-2 normal stools. It could be a food allergy so if it persists then I recommend trying a different food. I hope this helps!
