Updated On September 23rd, 2025

What is this sore on my dog’s back leg between pad and heel bend? Just noticed tonight and wondering if vet trip is needed or how to treat?

At such a young age, it can be inflammation as a result of getting bitten by something or a small skin tumor. Skin tumors such as that are most commonly histiocytomas and these are not cancerous. They often go away in their own You can apply neosporin and cortisone cream to the area as this will help if it is a bite reaction. If there is no improvement after 24-48 hours then I would have your vet check it
