Getting a rehomed puppy with unknown vaccine history? What's next?

We are looking into getting a dog. We found one that is being rehomed, but may or may not have had any vaccinations yet. He is a 6 month old jack russell, chihuahua. What should we make sure we do?

Start by taking him straight to the vet! They will probably check for intestinal parasites and give the first round of all vaccinations as if he has never received any. Then he should only need to have one set of boosters 3-4 weeks later.
