Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Female | 56 lbs
I have a 7 month old female Syrian hamster called Nellie. The past three days she has not been coming out at night and instead sleeping 24/7. This morning I saw green wee in her cage, so I googled it and it says it’s diarrhoea. When I looked up why she had diarrhoea it said she has wet tail. The symptoms she has been having include: Lack of energy, folded ears, diarrhoea, sleeping 24:7. Got any suggestions?

Wet Tail can be quite serious, even life threatening, if not treated promptly. Typically, the diagnosis is confirmed by your vet after an exam. Antibiotics and supportive care are used to treat. Stress plays a big role in the condition, so keeping Nellie warm and as stress free as possible is critical. Clean the cage daily and discontinue feeding fruits or treats until the stool is normal. Make sure she continues to eat and drink normally.
