Hey there my dog keeps chewing and licking his Right back paw almost every single day and he does it so much sometimes that he whimpers. We have took him to the vet and they said he has allergies or a yeast problem. We tried a medication for the allergies but the allergy medication hurt his stomach and he can’t take it no more . Is there anything I can do at home whether it maybe a yeast infection or his allergies? Btw we have no idea what he’s allergic too): he’s also on allergy food. Pls help!

Poor guy. I am sorry to hear that Nelson is having allergies and a yeast infection. I am not sure what medication was prescribed, but there are several options for allergy control in dogs, so if 1 medication does not work, then there are others to try. Our top picks for allergy control are Apoquel tablets, steroids (in some cases is appropriate) or Cytopoint injections (given by your vet once every 4-8 weeks). As far as the yeast infection is concerned, he will likely need both a topical yeast shampoo and oral anti-fungal medication prescribed by your vet. There is one reputable shampoo available online (amazon.com) called Duoxo chlrohexidine shampoo + Climbazole that is good for yeast infections in pets. Here is more information on yeast infections in dogs and how they are managed. https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951356 I hope this helps and best wishes with Nelson and his allergies! I hope that things clear up soon. Take care.
