My rabbit has a strange, watery eye and is sneezing. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 2 lbs

Hello my rabbits eye look strange and it’s been watering, she also doesn’t flinch or close her eye when I get close to it. She’s also been sneezing. It looks a lot worse in person compared to the picture. Her eye changes and one minute it looks like there is a flap of skin over it. The first picture is of the good eye and the second picture is of the bad eye.

Thanks for reaching out about Willow and including photos. Squinting can often be an indication of a a corneal scratch or other pain. This can cause increased tearing that drains into the nose, and therefore causing sneezing. Lacrimal duct infections can also lead to sneezing. A veterinary visit is recommended to assist with treatment. Good luck.
