My dog ate a toy squeaker but is acting normal. What should I do?

Hi - Winnie may have eaten a squeaker from a toy, but is not in any distress. What should I do?

Hi there. If Winnie is acting normal and not having any symptoms of a problem, you can just continue to monitor her for the next 2-3 days. If she did eat the squeaker, she may vomit it up on her own, or it may pass through her system without causing any problems. The biggest concern is that it might get stuck and cause an intestinal blockage. Signs of a blockage would include vomiting, not eating, acting lethargic, and not having regular bowel movements. If you see any of these signs over the next few days, then I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam and x-rays. But as long as she's acting normal, eating and drinking, and not vomiting, you shouldn't need to worry.
