My 1-month-old kittens are hungry. Is it time for solid food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My kittens are a month old and they aren’t shutting up, I think they need to eat but their mon won’t feed them and she is well fed. All they do is scream and I don’t want to feed them because the will start pooping anywhere

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your kittens. At 4 weeks of age, kittens need to be offered kitten food. This can be given as canned or dry food. By this age, they are not typically nursing as much and need to be started on solid food to meet their caloric needs. They will be fully weaned in the next full weeks. I hope this information helps!
