My puppy vomited garlic-like lumps and has soft stools. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cockapoo | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 4 days old

Hi, my 13 week old Spoodle puppy Audrey vomited on the way home from puppy pre school and within it (which consisted of the kangaroo tendon she’d eaten while there)were two white lumps which resembled garlic cloves in texture, colour and shape. She has also had soft stools the past couple of days, and has previously had a bacterial gut infection that was treated with antibiotics. Apart from that she’s eating drinking and playing normally.

Hopefully there wasn't garlic in there, as garlic is toxic to dogs. If she is otherwise fine, keep an eye on Audrey for now. If she vomits again, stops eating, stops drinking, starts vomiting water, her gums are pale, or she become very lethargic, have her seen by a vet right away. Best of luck.
