Both my cats have bald spots and red patches. What should I do?

Question

My 2 year old cat has bald patches by her tail, parts of bag legs. Also little red spots on a bald patch on her stomach. Her kitten that is 11 months old has a bald patch between her shoulders. Both noticed in the last week. Please could you advise, thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

I would be most worried about ringworm, given both cats are affected. But, it could also be fleas, other parasites, allergy, or secondary infection. Given that ringworm can be passed to humans it would be best to have both cats evaluated by your vet. They can assess for multiple causes of skin lesions and give you a treatment plan.
