My chihuahua puppy is vomiting, not eating, and lethargic. Why?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 7 days old | 2 lbs

I have a Male chihuahua 10 months old. Since this morning he has been vomiting. He hasn't eaten since yesterday. Events that would normally bring excitement appear to have no effect. He just lays around but is responsive to mine or my wife's voice. Tommorow we are taking him to the vet as we are concerned parents of our baby cujo. In your experience what could be the underlying cause or causes?

So sorry that Cujo is not feeling well. Unfortunately his symptoms are very vague and non-specific. Anything that can ail a dog can cause vomiting and lethargy. Common reasons for puppies would be: * intestinal parasites * dietary indiscretion * pancreatitis * bowel obstruction * gastroenteritis * virus Just keep him calm and quiet until his appointment. It would also be a good idea to withhold food but do make sure he has access to fresh, clean water but don't force him to drink. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
