Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 3 months and 30 days old | 38 lbs

Hi I have 2 4 month old German Shepard’s. 1 started with parvo symptoms Saturday afternoon we have been giving her pedialyte to keep her hydrated and syringe feeding rice baby food she is also drinking water on her own. Today is now Tuesday her 3rd day and she seems to be recovering still had diarrhea last night but hasn’t vomited today. Question is my 2nd puppy started not wanting to eat today but she doesn’t look sick. They just got 2nd parvo shot Saturday. Should I put puppies togethe?

Hello, and thanks for your question. If possible, I would keep your pups separated until both are symptom free for 2 weeks. If there is the possibility of parvovirus, that can continue to be shed in the stool several weeks after symptoms resolve. It is worth the inconvenience to taking the extra precaution, and give them a bit more time for their immune systems to respond to the most recent vaccination. Hope this helps and they both feel better soon!
