Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

We just moved into a new house 3 weeks ago. The house before had numerous cats. Smell of urine was palpable. After the carpets replace walls wipe down. It is gone but she will still not go in some rooms..Our concern is in the last 4-5 days she has completely stop eat an has last weight rapidly..tonight she ate a few bites of baby food. Has stop eat treats too which she was a fat cat and was all about treats. Worried she might not be in good health. We adopted her.which she’s update with shots.

Edith is so lovely. I agree, this does not sound good. Rapid weight loss and stopping eating completely is extremely serious in a cat. When a cat goes long enough without eating (about 72 hours), they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. I think she needs to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
