Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 5 months old | 6.8 lbs
My cat is extremely skittish and afraid of strangers. The only people he trusts are my family members. I tried to take him to the vet three times all unsuccessful. My vet prescribed Gabapentin to sedate him in order to get him into the pet carrier and get him to the vet. My cat is a short hair male who is 2.5 years old and weights only 7 lbs, the prescription is for 100 mg tablets. Based on my cat's weight do you think that the dosage is too high?

Hi, no this is the dosage we use for a standard weight cat to make them a bit drowsy and less anxious to go and see the vet, it normally works very well ! It sounds a lot but it is what we normally give. Hope this helps and that it works well for you too.
