My dog has diarrhea & vomiting for 3 days. Is a vet visit needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 11 months and 5 days old | 23 lbs

Hello, our dog has been having issues thre past 3 days. She has a sensitive stomach but about 3 days ago she began to have liquid stool and last night, she had it 3 times in her crate and also threw up. There was sticks in the vomit. We recently moved and there are bark chips in our new yard. Other than that though she is acting normal, eating, drinking etc. Is it time to take her to the vet?

After 3 days of liquid diarrhea and now vomiting as well, it’s time to take Cupid to the vet. She may just have an upset stomach from eating bark or other debris in your backyard, some parasites, a gastrointestinal virus, or other medical issue. Diarrhea can result in dehydration, even though she is still eating and drinking normally. I hope she feels better soon!
