Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 years and 9 months old | 23 lbs
My cat has had diarrhea for a few days. He has no other symptoms. He is active and playing. No vomiting. No lethargy. Does not seem to be in pain. He has not had a change in diet. Seems to be well hyrdrated. I do have a vet appointment for him next week. I am just wondering what could be the Cause and what I should do for him while waiting for the vet appointment? What types of food are okay to feed him?

He could have a GI illness causing the diarrhea, or could have eaten something rotten. I can give you a home remedy to see if that help Zeus. Withhold food for 12 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. I hope this helps!
