My dog has bloody stool but seems fine. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 15 lbs

My dog woke up this morning not wanting to walk on her right foot. I think she hurt it. Later in the day she started to walk on it just fine. My main concern is she had a mucus diarrhea and then diarrhea a couple more times then had a bloody diarrhea. She has continued to eat and drink threw the day and night. Now she was just running and playing with my other dog. Should I be concerned with the bloody stool?

Yes, I would be quite concerned about the bloody stool, as that can have some pretty serious causes. I would take Nutmeg into the vet first thing in the morning to have this checked out. Best of luck.
