My diabetic dog's blood sugar is low after insulin. Is it too much?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 14 years and 5 months old | 20 lbs

Hi, my diabetic dog just had her glucose level checked and it was at 61. (7 hours after her insulin and meal) The vet is out till tomorrow so the tech said to maybe drop her one unit. im concerned shes being given to much. Shes 20lbs and they started her at 5 units, up'd her to 7. And now have her on 9units

Hello. I would hold off giving Hailey any more insulin until you speak with your veterinarian tomorrow. Being hyperglycemic for a short time is better than being hypoglycemic, so give her a small snack now, & divide her evening meal into two feedings, 1/2 at her regular time & the remainder before bedtime.
