Why is my dog suddenly not eating, lethargic, and head down?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | neutered | 60 lbs

My dog was fine up until today. He now walks with his head down. He's usually really energetic and was completely fine yesterday. He hasn't eaten anything today either. He doesn't get up to walk either. A few days ago, if this is relevant, his back leg sort of limped, not an outright limp

I recommend to have Toby examined by his veterinarian today. This posture generally indicated pain. The most two common sources of generalized pain are spinal pain or pancreatic pain but many conditions are possible. The doctor may need to do radiographs to examine the spine or a blood test for the pancreas. Regardless, Toby will get treatment so that he feels better. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
