My dog's gassy and vomiting after a swollen face and vet visit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | spayed | 9 months and 5 days old | 33 lbs

My dog was crated all night and when she woke up her face was swollen. She is 9 months and this has never happened before. I went to the vet at 9:30am and she was given a steroid shot and a Benadryl shot and then we were told to give her one and a half pill of Benadryl later during the day hidden in peanut butter (4pm). I fed her breakfast after the vet visit and she was super gassy/farting. When I fed her dinner she was gassy/farting a lot and 2.5 hours later she threw up her dinner.

Poor Georgia! I would feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. I hope this helps!
