It will not prevent new fleas from getting on him. Once he is old enough you can start him on flea preventative. His vaccines should be started at 6 weeks of age. Your vet will be able to go over the specific vaccine schedule tha the recommend for the area you live in. At 6 weeks most people start with the FVRCP (upper respiratory) vaccine. Kittens needs vaccine severy 3 weeks until they are 12-15 weeks old depending on the area. It’s hard to tell exactly how she without seeing him in person. Most healthy cats who aren’t underweight are ~1.5 pounds at 6 weeks of age.
