My dog is restless, waking up barking at night. Does he need a vet?

He is waking up frequently at night and barking. Has lots of energy. Ears are warm to the touch. Abnormal for him as he usually sleeps through the night..10:30 to 5 am. Looking fo suggestions or whether he needs a vet. Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old

I would first makes sure he is expending enough energy through the day especially right before bed time. You could try Benadryl before bed to see if this helps. see link below. If he continues, I would have your vet take a look at him to ensure there isn't anything else going on causing him to be restless and unable to sleep.
