My cat has a pussy eye. Can I treat his eye infection at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat has some sort of eye infection. It’s not so much an infection, it’s just a little bit pussy. He has cat flu as a kitten but recovered from it and I recently adopted him from the RSPCA, he’s an only cat and lives inside. I’ve had him for 5 days and his eyes been fine till yesterday. I don’t have the money for a vet visit and I was wondering if there’s anything at home I could try before taking him to a vet and wasting my money. He’s my little baby and I just want him better. Cheers:(:)

Unfortunately this isn't something that can be treated at home, I would tell you if there was a home remedy. Pus does indicate an infection, and he has to see a vet. It won't be a waste of money. I hope this helps.
