Why is my dog peeing blood and frequently? Is it a UTI again?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 5 years and 1 month old | 30 lbs

Lemon had uti last December. I notice blood in her pee lately. And she is peeing more frequently, can’t hold her pee. I guess her UTI is back? It’s been going on for a week now, I tried UTI probiotics and Antiseptic wipes, not working out. There is still blood. I live by myself, and I had a minor surgery last week, but I felt better now, should I take her to a vet?

Yes, Elaine needs to see her veterinarian again. It’s possible the UTI is back or it could be a bladder stone, crystals in the urine...etc. Since this is her second UTI, you may ask the veterinarian about a special diet that can help manage pets who seem to be prone to the condition. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
