My cat has a weird skin growth. Could it be an allergic reaction?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 2 years old | 11 lbs

There's something werid going on with my cat skin. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to something. About a month ago she had an rodent ulcer on her bottom lip but that was cleared up with antibiotics and a steroid concoction that the vet perscribed. It took about two weeks to get that rodent ucler all clear up. The vet also perscribed my cat the z/d diet food Science Hill. And now one month later my cat is having this weird skin growth. Not sure if it is related.

It would be hard to say if it is related or not. As with any new symptom or growth, it's always best to have your vet take a look in person. They can sample the area to see if there is a bacterial or other component to it, and can help recommend changes or medications that may help it resolve. Until you can get to your vet, placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Savanna, if she is scratching or licking at it at all, can help prevent further irritation.
