My dog has a UTI but is still very sick and lethargic after 2 days?

I took my dog to the vet and they said she has a severe uti. They gave me metronidazole and amoxicillin. It has been 2 days and she is very lethargic so much so that she hardly wants to move at all. She had a diarrhea accident in the house and is still shaking as well. She is eating the bland canned food they gave us. Should I give it 3 to 5 days before truly worrying. Should I start giving her previcox again or is it only for arthritis pain? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 12 years and 10 months old | 39 lbs

Hi. It doesn't sound like she is responding to treatment. She may need a stronger antibiotic and in addition, maybe her stomach is upset from that. I would recommend getting her back in to your veterinarian first thing in the am. A urine culture would be a good idea to get the best choice antibiotic. It may also be that it isn't just a UTI. If blood work wasn't done as well, I would highly recommend it to check kidneys, glucose, and liver. Good luck
