My new puppy is sneezing. When should I worry about distemper?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My puppy is sneezing but not all the time. I am afraid because my other dog just died last week because of distemper and her first signs at that time was sneezing along with vomiting. When should I be worried about my new puppy's sneezing?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rancho. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. He may have a simple upper respiratory tract infection, but it is worrisome if he has been exposed to the distemper virus. This is especially true if your previous dog broke with respiratory signs first. I would not expose him to any other dogs in case he is contagious. I hope this information helps!
