My new puppy ate adult food. Is it safe to switch to puppy food?

I recently rescued a pup, the person who was giving away the little took them from their mother at 6 weeks (too early). He said he had been feeding them adult food, I am giving her puppy food. Is it ok that I switched her food? She tries to eat my 1 year old food all the time but I won't let her.

She is so cute! She needs to eat a puppy food, adult food is not appropriate at all for puppies. Puppies need higher amounts of calcium, protein, and calories than adult dogs, so you did the right thing by switching food.
