My dog is peeing blood and snorting. What should I do right now?

Hello, my dog is snorting air through her nose and coughing. She also peed blood earlier today while peeing normally.

It sounds like Vivian needs to see her veterinarian. Urinating blood is never normal and could indicate a painful bladder infection or bladder stones. The snorting may not be related. Dogs can snort due to infection, allergies or something stuck in the nose. It’s impossible to say why is happening without being able to see or hear it. Sometimes people will describe a reverse sneeze like this. I recommend to watch some videos on you tube and see if that is what she is doing. Try to record to behavior so the veterinarian can see it. Have the doctor check that out as well. Encourage her to drink plenty of water as this may help the bladder to feel better.
