My calm dog destroys things when alone. Is it separation anxiety?

Rev is a boxer, roughly one and a half years old. When she was a puppy, she required potty training, but she NEVER tore anything up. Lately, she has been pulling stuff off the counters/tables/desks and usually destroying them. But, she is fairly calm (for the most part), sweet, well behaved, and obedient when we are home. We leave toys for her and make a point of making things on the tables hard to reach, to no avail. Could this be separation anxiety, or a faze, or something? Any advice? Thanks!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I'm sorry to hear Rev has been having some behavior issues. Does this only happen when you are gone? If so, it may be separation or some other anxiety-based issue. Does Rev have free roam of the house when you are gone? If so, it may be beneficial to start training her to a crate, or confining her with baby gates, etc to a specific area of the house while you are gone. This can become a "safe" space for her, as well as protecting her from being able to get into things that she shouldn't. Good luck!
