Why does my dog have red, swollen, itchy bumps in her armpit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 2 years and 9 months old | 80 lbs

My dog has had these bumps in her armpit for a week now and I can’t figure out what it is . I’ve tried CBD oil, coconut oil and hydrocortisone and nothing works. She’s also been on amoxicillin for a few days. It bothers her a lot because she’s always licking at it or swollen and red.

This is probably caused by an allergic reaction. first of all make sure you de-flea Amara regularly every month with a high quality spot on (ex. Advantage) as fleas are by far the most common reason for these reactions. If the fleas are not the problem, it could be an allergic reaction to food or an environmental factor. this is more complicated to treat and will sometimes require medications such as Steroids, anti histamines or cytopiont in order to stop the allergy.
