My 6-month-old puppy has diarrhea for days. Can I give Pepto Bismol?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 21 days old | 8 lbs

My moms 6 month old puppy have diarrhea and had it for a couple days now. Shes been de-wormed last month. We fed her pure pumpkin and rice and baby food and nothing seems to help. Could we give her pepto bismol? If so how much? If that won't help she will be going to the vet. Thank you.

Unfortunately it's illegal from us to recommend using an OTC medication such as pepto bismol without seeing Penelope in person. I strongly recommend having her seen by a vet today if possible. It's never a good idea to use an OTC human medication on a puppy unless specifically prescribed by a vet. Her vet can let you know if this is safe or not, and can treat her diarrhea. Best of luck.
