Hello, I have a cockatiel age 5 months old. A few days my bird pulled out 2 big tail feathers. I’m very worried because last time my budgie did that and he died. Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out about Rio. Rarely is the loss of feathers a life-threatening concern. Trauma, stress, nutritional deficiencies, and some viral diseases can cause feathers to fall out easily. If the problems persist, as feathers continue to fall out, a veterinary visit is needed. Correct any dietary deficiencies as birds can not live well on seeds. Good luck.
