If they both drink a lot of water, then you can feed them dry food and mix in wet food occasionally as well as give it with treats. I only feed my cats dry food, and they are fine. I hope this helps!

In my professional opinion, good quality canned food is better for your cat, as dry cat food contains a lot of carbohydrates, which is not a proper ingredient for an obligatory carnivore such as cats. Feeding canned food also helps with providing your cat with hydration, and some cats prefer ingesting moisture with the food. Best to feed the pate style canned food ("ground mouse") which entices cats to eat it all rather than lick the sauce only and leaving behind the actual feed. You can add some dry food as treats here and there, but make sure you include that in the daily ration rather than as an addition. Unfortunately indoor cats often eat dry food when they are bored and get fat. It is better to feed the wet (canned) food twice a day at approx. 1.5 to 2oz of canned food per feeding,.

Great question! Both have benefits. Dry food is better for the teeth, but wet food has a higher moisture content adding more water into a cat's diet. It's fine to feed exclusively dry food as long as Toby is drinking enough water, but you can give him a mixture of both :-)
