My cat hacks, no hairball, and remedies aren't working. What's next?

My cat has been heeving and hacking like she’s trying to get out a hair ball however nothing is coming out and she does this about 2 to 3 times a day. I’ve tried some medicine from amazon it was like a gel. Then I tried drops and then I tried a hard supplement. They don’t work at all. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 months and 23 days old

If the hairball remedy is not effective, consider a physical exam with your veterinarian. Other causes may include foreign body, infection, inflammation or allergies. Monitor for lethargy, difficulty breathing, blue gums, decreased appetite coughing or vomiting. These are symptoms that definitely need to be addressed by your veterinarian.
