My 8-month Lab has explosive diarrhea, no vomiting. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 8 months and 12 days old | 60 lbs

8 month old male lab about 60 lbs still perky and eating normally but has had very runny at times explosive diarrhea for over 12 hrs drinking water, urinating normal NO vomiting. Has been a poop eater. What should I do?

Poor Murphy! I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps him. Withhold food for 8-12 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.
