Why is my dog restless, constantly moving, and acting strange?

My 7 yo shihtzu acting up from last 6 hours. He is restless moves from place to place every min. He gets a sudden kick/tick then get up and change position. I checked his body pressed all the areas to see if he respond to any pain but nothing. He had dinner but dont know whats wrong with him. Pleas help

There could be many things that look like this but two very common reasons are a flea biting him or an anal gland causing discomfort. Certainly you can check him for fleas but unless you are familiar with anal glands, I recommend to have him checked by the veterinarian to see if the glands are the issue. Also, watch for any neurologic abnormalities as toxins could also alter his mentation. If these are sen, definitely go see the vet.
