My dog threw up blood and sticky vomit. Is emergency vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 20 lbs

My dog has vomited twice. The first time was without blood. And the second time it was vomit with blood and it was a sticky substance. Should I take her to the emergency care

Hi, if the second vomit was just pink tinged you could wait and keep an eye on her. If the vomit should continue, over the next hour, or if there was fresh blood (bright red), I would have Viole checked over at the emergency clinic. Hope this helps !
