My cat has scabs around her ears but isn't itching. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello, my cat has several tiny scabs around the base of her both her ears. She has not been around other cats. She has not been itching excessively. The only problem I can see are the scabs. They have been there for probably around two weeks.

Your cat could be suffering from an allergy, mites, fleas, a bacterial or fungal infection. each of these requires a different treatment, so it is important to find out what is causing the itch. I would observe this and should the scabs increase in number or get bigger or not heal at all, I would take your kitty to your veterinarian for an exam. Make sure you have her on flea prevention as a first step.
