Why is my dog suddenly so gassy with a gurgling stomach on his food?

Lou has been on Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach for about 2 months and has done wonderful. But he has had tremendous gas for like 2 days. So bad that he clears the room and it’s back to back passing gas and his stomach kinda gurgles. Is that normal? He’s always had gas but never this bad and not near as often. Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 11 months old | 23 lbs

I hate to hear that Lou is having that issue. It sounds like he has an upset tummy, though to what extent, it’s not clear yet. Upset stomachs can occur due to many reasons. If he seems over all normal, you may wait it out or try a bland diet for 24 hours to see if it passes. If he starts having diarrhea or seems like he doesn’t feel good, you should take him in to see his veterinarian. If you start to see that’s becoming a more frequent occurrence, you may try switching food. Pro Plan is a great diet but you may also try the Royal Canin French Bulldog formula as it has special fibers meant to decrease gas.
