My mom’s cat’s purr has changed all of a sudden. It sounds like bubbles. I don’t know how to describe it other than that. Should I be worried?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is possible that Mody's purr has changed due to an obstruction in the nose/back of throat. Cats tend to get polyps at the back of the throat that can cause a change in meowing and purring and result in some nasal discharge or sneezing. I recommend having Mody seen by a vet as soon as possible to rule out these conditions or any secondary infections. I hope all is well!
