My dog is losing weight on homemade food. Is her diet healthy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | spayed | 1 year and 11 months old | 20.3 lbs

I've been feeding my dog homecook meals since last december as she stopped eating dry food. She used to be 9.8kg and now she is 8.9kg. She eats everything and cant get her to eat more. I give her everyday a total of 320 gr 180gr of cooked ground beef 70 of veggies mix (pumkin, spinach, carrots, brocoli, green beans) and 70 of brown rice as a filler. But she keeps loosing weight. Im also giving her a multivitamin (Mosegor, 3ml everyday) is this feeding wrong? What should I change?

Hello, I would be concerned that she continues to lose weight despite a healthy appetite. Weight loss may be a symptoms of underlying gastrointestinal or liver disease. I would advise you to have her evaluated by her veterinarian and discuss diagnostic tests including bloodwork and abdominal ultrasound. As far as the diet, try the website balanceit.com to ensure you are providing all the micronutrients needed.
