Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 64 lbs
I gave my 3 dogs their annual vaccinations, and one of them has a HUGE lump/swelling at the site of injection. I understand its normal for them to get swelling after vaccination but its really big. Its not painful to her at all but should i be worried

A huge swelling isn’t normal. It could be a developing abscess or hematoma. I recommend a veterinary exam and aspirate of the swelling to determine the cause. You can use a hot compress on it to see if the swelling will go down. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Rita.

Ws the lump there prior to the vaccinations? If so and it is getting larger I would recommend having your veterinarian aspirate it to make sure it is nothing to be concerned about. If the lump came after the vaccinations and she had a vaccination in that location then it can be from the vaccination. If you do not remember if one was given in that location then I would call your veterinarian to make sure. With her being so young it is less likely for it to be something concerning but if changing I would have your vet take a look. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
